Step 1: Set Up Your Company Profile

~5 min

Configure your business identity. ABSS uses this information on all documents — invoices, quotes, delivery challans, and GST filings.

  • Enter your legal business name exactly as registered with the MCA
  • Add your GSTIN (15-digit GST Identification Number)
  • Set your financial year start — April 1 for Indian businesses
  • Upload company logo (PNG/SVG, min 200×200 px)
  • Add registered office address with PIN code and state
  • Choose your base currency (INR is pre-selected for India)

Tip: Your GSTIN is validated live against the GSTN database. If your business has multiple GSTINs (for different states), you can add branch-level GSTINs under Settings → Branches.

Step 2: Configure GST & Tax Settings

~10 min

India's GST structure requires accurate tax configuration from day one. ABSS supports regular taxpayers, composition dealers, and SEZ units.

  • Select your GST registration type (Regular / Composition / SEZ / Unregistered)
  • Enable E-Invoice if your annual turnover exceeds ₹5 crore
  • Configure HSN / SAC codes for your primary goods and services
  • Set default tax rates: IGST (interstate) and CGST+SGST (intrastate)
  • Enable GSTR-1 auto-filing preparation
  • Set your E-Way Bill threshold (default ₹50,000 for interstate movement)

Tip: If you're a composition dealer (turnover ≤ ₹1.5 crore), enable Composition Scheme under Settings → Tax. ABSS will automatically apply the flat composition rate on all transactions.

Step 3: Invite Your Team & Assign Roles

~5 min

Add team members with role-based access control. Each user only sees the modules and data they need.

  • Go to Settings → Users & Permissions
  • Click 'Invite User' and enter their email address
  • Assign a role: Admin, Accountant, Sales, Purchase, or Viewer
  • Set branch-level access if you operate multiple locations
  • Configure approval workflows for invoices above set thresholds
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for sensitive roles

Tip: The Accountant role has full access to Books but read-only access to CRM. The Sales role can create quotes and invoices but cannot view bank balances or journal entries. You can create custom roles under Settings → Custom Roles.

Step 4: Import Your Existing Data

~20–45 min

Bring your master data — customers, vendors, items, and opening balances — from Tally, Excel, or your previous accounting software.

  • Download the ABSS import template (CSV format) from Settings → Import
  • Import Customer Master: name, GSTIN, billing address, credit limit
  • Import Vendor Master: name, GSTIN, payment terms, bank details
  • Import Item Master: HSN/SAC code, unit of measure, tax rate, selling price
  • Enter opening balances for each ledger account as of your migration date
  • Verify imported data using the Import Log under Settings → Import History

Tip: If you're migrating from Tally Prime or Tally ERP 9, use the Tally XML export feature. ABSS can read Tally's XML format directly — no manual CSV mapping needed. Contact support for assisted migration.

Step 5: Create Your First Invoice

~3 min

Walk through creating a GST-compliant sales invoice with automatic tax calculation, E-Invoice IRN generation, and PDF export.

  • Go to Sales → Invoices → New Invoice
  • Select customer from the dropdown (GSTIN auto-fills from the master)
  • Add line items: select from item master, quantity auto-calculates tax
  • ABSS auto-applies IGST or CGST+SGST based on customer's state vs. your state
  • Preview the invoice — it matches the GSTN-prescribed format
  • Save & Submit: if E-Invoice is enabled, IRN is generated instantly via IRP

Tip: ABSS generates IRN (Invoice Reference Number) in real-time by connecting to the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP). The QR code and IRN are embedded directly on the PDF — no separate IRP login needed.

Step 6: Connect Your Bank Account

~5 min

Link your business bank account to automatically import transactions and reconcile your books. Supports all major Indian banks.

  • Go to Banking → Banks → Add Bank Account
  • Select your bank from the list (HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis, Kotak, and 40+ more)
  • Enter account number, IFSC code, and account holder name
  • Set the account opening balance as of your go-live date
  • Enable auto-import if your bank supports API-based statement feeds
  • For manual import: download your bank statement as CSV and upload it

Tip: ABSS matches imported bank transactions to your existing invoices and bills automatically. Unmatched transactions appear in the reconciliation queue where you can categorise them in one click.

Step 7: Set Up CRM Pipeline

~10 min

Configure your sales pipeline stages, lead sources, and deal categories so your sales team can start tracking from day one.

  • Go to CRM → Settings → Pipeline Configuration
  • Define pipeline stages: e.g. New Lead → Qualified → Proposal → Negotiation → Won/Lost
  • Set probability % for each stage (used in revenue forecasting)
  • Configure lead sources: Website, WhatsApp, Trade Show, Referral, Cold Call
  • Set up territory mapping for your sales reps by state or region
  • Create email templates for follow-up sequences

Tip: If you already have leads in a spreadsheet, use CRM → Import Leads. Map columns to ABSS fields in the drag-and-drop mapper. Leads import in under 2 minutes.

Step 8: Run Your First Report

~2 min

ABSS reports are real-time — no end-of-day processing or batch jobs. Your Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and GSTR-1 are always current.

  • Go to Reports → P&L Statement: choose date range and compare with last year
  • Open Balance Sheet: verify opening balances match your migration data
  • Go to GST → GSTR-1: review outward supplies before the filing deadline
  • Open CRM → Analytics: see pipeline value by stage and sales rep
  • Schedule auto-delivery: send P&L and cash flow reports to your email every Monday
  • Export any report to Excel or PDF with one click

Tip: ABSS formats GSTR-1 exactly as per the GSTN JSON schema. You can download the JSON file and upload it directly to the GST portal, or use our one-click portal sync once you've authenticated via GST Suvidha Provider (GSP).
