Lead Industry
For: People setting up the list of industries used to classify leads
Purpose: Understand what the Lead Industry master does and how it helps you group and filter leads by the type of business they are in
What This Module Does
A lead industry is a label for the kind of business a lead is in (for example, Manufacturing, Retail, or Healthcare). You set up your list of industries once, and then choose one on each lead. This lets you group and filter leads by industry so you can see where your prospects are coming from and focus your effort.
The Lead Industry master lets you:
- Create the industries your business deals with.
- Search and list your industries.
- Rename an industry.
- Delete an industry that is no longer needed (only when no lead is using it).
Main Features (What You Can Do)
1. Create a Lead Industry
You create an industry by giving it a name (required). Each new industry is active by default.
- The name must be unique — if an industry with the same name already exists, the system stops you and shows a message.
- Once created, the industry appears in the dropdown when you add or edit a lead.
2. View and Search Industries
You can list all your industries and search by name. The list is paginated and shows the newest industries first.
3. Edit a Lead Industry
You can rename an industry at any time. The system checks again that the new name is not already used by another industry. The change applies everywhere the industry is shown.
4. Delete a Lead Industry
You can delete an industry only when no lead is using it. If any lead has this industry selected, the system blocks the deletion and tells you it is in use, so your existing leads keep a valid industry.
