Task

For: Sales people and managers tracking follow-up work

Purpose: Understand what the Task module does and how it helps you assign, prioritise, and track follow-up work against leads and visits

What This Module Does

A task is a piece of follow-up work — a call to make, a meeting to attend, a document to send. Each task has a type, a due date, a priority, and a status, and can be assigned to a team member. Tasks can be linked to a lead or a visit, so nothing about a prospect slips through the cracks.

The Task module lets you:

  • Create tasks with a type, due date, priority, and status.
  • Assign tasks to team members and link them to a lead or visit.
  • Set a reminder and attach files.
  • Filter tasks, and quickly see my tasks, tasks due today, and overdue tasks.
  • Update a task's status as work progresses, and delete tasks you no longer need.

Main Features (What You Can Do)

1. Create a Task

When you create a task you enter:

  • Title: required.
  • Task type: required — one of Call, Meeting, Follow-up, Email, Site Visit, Demo, Document, or Other.
  • Due date: required.
  • Priority: HOT, WARM, or COLD.
  • Status: Pending, In Progress, Complete, or Overdue.
  • Assigned to and Managed by: the people responsible.
  • Lead and Visit: optional links so the task sits in context.
  • Description, reminder, and attachments: optional.

The system generates a unique task number automatically (e.g. TSK-001) and records who added the task.

2. View and Filter Tasks

You can list tasks and filter by assigned to, status, task type, priority, lead, visit, or a due-date range, and search across tasks. The list shows who each task is assigned to and who manages it.

3. My Tasks, Today, and Overdue

The module offers quick views to help you focus:

  • My tasks: only tasks assigned to you.
  • Today: tasks due today.
  • Overdue: tasks whose due date has passed and that are not yet completed or cancelled.

4. Edit a Task

You can update a task — change its status as work moves along, adjust the due date or priority, reassign it, or add attachments.

5. Delete a Task

You can delete a task that is no longer needed.
