Lead Source
For: People setting up the list of sources that tell you where leads come from
Purpose: Understand what the Lead Source master does and how it helps you track which channels bring in your leads
What This Module Does
A lead source tells you where a lead came from — for example, a Website enquiry, a Referral, a Trade Show, or a Social Media campaign. You set up your list of sources once and pick one on each lead. This lets you measure which channels bring in the most (and the best) leads.
The Lead Source master lets you:
- Create the sources your leads come from.
- Search and list your sources.
- Rename a source.
- Delete a source that is no longer needed (only when it is not in use).
Main Features (What You Can Do)
1. Create a Lead Source
You create a source by giving it a name (required). Each new source is active by default.
- The name must be unique — if a source with the same name already exists, the system stops you.
- Once created, the source appears in the dropdown when you add or edit a lead, and is used to attribute where each lead came from.
2. View and Search Sources
You can list all your sources and search by name. The list is paginated and shows the newest sources first.
3. Edit a Lead Source
You can rename a source at any time. The system checks again that the new name is not already used by another source.
4. Delete a Lead Source
You can delete a source only when it is not in use. The system checks both leads and quotations — if the source is used on any lead or any quote, deletion is blocked and you are told which module is using it.
